Franklin has been able to offer 3 sections of tutoring this year thanks to our Title ! funds. We tutored 1st - 4th graders in both math and reading. A child qualifies for tutoring services based on our assessments. One of our assessment pieces is our DIBELS. DIBELS is a researched based piece that assesses on basic early literacy skills, such as fluency, blending and segmenting. Our math assessment pieces is call DELTA. This is a 2-part assessment where the students are tested on whole numbers and fractions depending on their grade level. This includes computation and follows the National Common Core Standards. We are able to determine from these assessments what students may be at risk for having difficulty in those specific areas. We utilize this data to provide interventions such as tutoring to help those students make the appropriate gains for his/her grade level.
We would like to thank 2nd thru 4th grade students who participated in the TALENT SHOW! We had many fine talented, young, inspiring artists in voice, comedy, acrobats, hoola-hoops, dance and magic. A special thanks goes out to Aaron Darrow, who was the "MC".
We are excited to say that we have a total of 49 students in the "KIDS ON THE GO" program. Mr. Jason Kanouse is the coach along with assistants, Mrs. Gussert, Mrs. Marczak and Mr. Pals. Thank you all for helping and good job to all of the students.
